Karma could have swore she was going into labor. She was having a lot of pain on her left side so we took her over to St. Joe’s to have her checked out. As it turns out, it’s something called Round Ligament Pain, which is fairly common apparently. The best part was that we got a few more ultrasound pictures and meet a pretty cool, down to earth doctor who respected our views and agreed to let us transfer to his clinic and he would handle the delivery. Here’s the sonograms… the second one looks like he’s flicking us off and in one of the others, you can actually see a full head of hair!

New Year’s Day is here and for us, it means it’s just that much closer to the big day! We decided to partake in the conventional festivities via fireworks and bottle rockets. Here’s a picture to share with you (and to give you an idea how big this boy is going to be!).  About a month and a half left to go at this point! I feel bad for Karma… sort of ;) . The other crazy lady in the picture is Geo’s grandmother.

We’ve been going to this clinic called Genesis, run by Tampa General Hospital, and frankly… it’s not a very good clinic. It’s a long story why we even started going there in the first place. However, I tolerated it… until today. Every other person/doctor/idiot we talked to had made mention of vaccinations and what to expect once he’s born. We advised them that we know what to expect because our son isn’t getting any vaccines and we tried to keep it as simple as “it’s against our culture”. Then came the ridiculous looks and stares coupled with conditioned fearmongering statements of “serious repercussions” and “death”. I’ve had it. We’re not coming here anymore.

Atleast we got another sonogram complete. This boy is already all over the place, which makes the picture a little blurry. We would have more, but we left the clinic in haste as you can imagine.

I know you say that when it’s born, but we went in for our second ultrasound and was able to find out. We were pondering if we should wait until the birth, but we decided we needed to plan accordingly. We are ecstatic that it’s a boy… we’re going to name him Geo. It means “earth” for you geniuses out there, not the car. We wanted something short and simple, that flows, and reflects his native culture… so it’s a perfect fit. Here’s some more sonograms! This first one looks kind of wicked if you ask me, haha. And to be honest, I can’t for sure make out what the arrow is pointing at in the second one, but if the sonographer says it’s a boy, I’ll take her word for it for now :) .

Karma and I go in for our first ultrasound! We are super excited even though it’s still too early to tell if it’s a boy or not. We also find out that the due date is February 17th! If he/she comes a little early on Feb. 13th, it’s a Friday! How crazy would that be for us to find out on Friday the 13th and the birth on a Friday the 13th too?! I love it! Enjoy the scans of the sonograms!

Today is the day we found out Karma was pregnant! We are super excited and have been planning this for a little while now and hoping it’s a boy, but we’ll love it nonetheless. It’s also kinda funny that it’s Friday the 13th!
